"AN OUNCE OF SAUCE

COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS."

Anthony Bourdain

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

The Franklin United Methodist Church has stood on Fifth Avenue since the late 1800s, with an annex added in 1965. The campus was further expanded in 1971 and 1997. Now the congregation is moving to a new location, and 63,000 square feet of mixed-use space will be available in January 2016.

The property – which fronts Fourth and Fifth avenues and Church Street, just off Franklin’s Main Street and Public Square – has been dubbed Fifth & Main Square, paying homage to its historic location and the sheer size of the campus, which includes ample on-street parking as well as a large private lot on Fourth Avenue. Opportunities exist for future expansion within the site.

The campus includes classroom space, a large fellowship hall and commercial kitchen, a full-sized gymnasium, even a 7,000 square-foot rooftop, plus the ca. 1835 Kennaday House next door. Principals with 5th & Main Square say the structures are well maintained and could be used for a range of hospitality and retail concepts, as well as educational, corporate and personal service purposes.

NOTE: The 40,000 square-foot Sanctuary Building is currently under contract, pending the execution of a lease agreement.
